Depression Through World War 2

Prohibition killed the local vineyards.  The forests were almost all cut away and the farms that occupied that land lost much of their market crop business. The small towns in the local redwood belt that had depended on logging shrank to become summer resort areas with small cabins for summer camping.

Now that the land was used primarily for summer vacations, the forest began to rebound.

What was life like in these times?  What effect did it have on land management?
