Knowing what’s going on is just the first step. Next, we must all tell our representatives what their legislation and regulations will do to us and how we feel about it.
All letters to federal representatives and senators will be sent to your personal representative or senator, regardless of who you addressed it to. It doesn’t matter that your representative is not on the committee hearing the issue, it’s still going to go to him or her. Given this fact, we need everyone who can to write or phone or send emails, just so we get correspondence to the widest array of individuals.
In any letter you send, mention that you are a forest landowner or forestry professional. Our local representatives need to be reminded we exist. They hear far often more from urbanites who simply do not live in our world and therefore cannot have our perspective.

- At the ARB homepage, click on ‘Send Us Your Comments’. It is located on the left under ‘Popular Pages’.
- Click on the ‘Board Item’ of interest. This takes you directly to the ‘Submit Your Comments to the Board’ page for that item.
- Complete all sections of the form (phone number and affiliation are optional). If you have a separate document, you can upload an attachment here.
- Click on ‘Send Comment’.
- Be on the look-out for an email acknowledgment notifying you that your comment was received by ARB. If you do not receive this email, please click on our disclaimer webpage for action items.
