As fire tax season approaches again for this year, the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association (HJTA) reports the following about SRA fees, aka the Fire Tax.
The state has once again been able to delay the progress of the HJTA class action lawsuit challenging the legality of the SRA fee. They report their “Motion to Certify Class” which establishes landowners’ right to be a party of the suit has been postponed from June 12 to August 7. The public is welcome to attend. In the meantime, the HJTA has once again provided forms for the Petition for Redetermination. To remain a party to the lawsuit, you must file this form each year when you pay the fee. The forms are available at:
